    Hi all,
Just wanted to post this to get yer advice. I'm a 30 year old lad - 6ft and 71.3KG. I have noticed over the past while that I've been building up a bit of belly fat and I wanted to loose it. Now, my hands are up - I am not the most active in that I do not play a lot of sport but I have taking up running over the past three weeks - still easing myself into it :-) Breakfast usually consists of Porridge on Low fat milk of Weetabix. I used to be desperate for eating deli type salad rolls with the odd chicken fillet for lunch etc but since Christmas I have completely cut these out. Good dinner then when I get home. I also have a fairly long commute to work - 95 miles round trip a day. Is there anything specific that I need to start doing to try and loose the slight (but noticeable) bulge that has started to appear..

    Cheers.

What have you replaced these with?

What kind of work are you in? Is it sedentary for 8 hours plus 2 hours commuting? Or do you get any exercise in work?

Also, tell us about weekends. Do you go for a few pints on Friday/Saturday night? Or do you stay in with a chinese takeaway and a few cans/bottle of wine?

Happieout - those aren't bad statistics, @ 6ft/87kg I have the same problem only far worse  so have researched this topic... have also recently taken up running and have signed up for a few runs on runireland website to give myself future targets and motivation. Also HIIT training seems to be the best training method for fat burning. Running at a moderate constant speed for a long time is not a great fat burner, better to alternate running at speed with short periods of walking. Watch the sugar intake and generally watch calories, portion size etc. Best of luck ;).
