Lead in time for new cars

I am due to change company cars shortly (Leaseplan) and I was looking to see if somebody could advise up to date lead in times for cars. From threads last year these times ranged from a couple of weeks to four months. The car choice is going to be the likes of Insignia/Mazda6/Mondeo/Passat.

From what I gather, the days of holding lots of stock at the garage are gone, but assuming I go for the standard trim etc, what are the general waiting times for 2012 for the marques above?

We havn't moved to Leaseplan yet so I presume they would not give out his information. The current lease on my car is up and it will be goin back shortly....I was basically trying to figure out if I will be in a rental for a few months.

Drop a pm to either R.O.R or Drummerboy08, both those lads are in the leasing business. They should be able to help you.

Very much depends on the specification of each car.

You'll pick up Mondeo 1.6 Style's from stock, but a 2.0Tdci Zetec is likely to be a fresh order. Ordered now it might make Feb production for March delivery, or March production for late March / early April delivery.

Insignia SC with a Plus Pack is probably ex. stock, without the plus pack it's a fresh order taking around 12 weeks. You might pick up an SE or Elite from stock somewhere if you aren't fussy on colours. Sports Tourer's are usually fresh order in any spec (same goes for practically all estate models).

Don't order too many Mazda's, but ordered a Sport SE late last year that was already in the country. Seems Mazda do keep a reasonable stock level around the dealerships.

You'll pick up Passat 1.6Tdi Trendlines without bluetooth from stock, but only in certain colours. There are a few around with Bluetooth in very limited colours. Higher specifications seem to all be special order currently taking around 8-10 weeks.

I know Leaseplan buy all Opels from Kenilworth and Mazda's from Annesley Williams - if you are in Dublin and looking for something immediate, might be worth popping in to them. Think they spread the Fords' and VW's around a bit.
