07 Santa Fe starter x 2.

    Hi there,
    My bro-in law has a 07 Santa Fe diesel, low miles - no majour probs untill before xmas. Then one morning the starter packed in (BOSCH), new starter fitted and about 3 weeks later, second one packed in. Only thing he noticed was that it seemed to 'keep starting' after you released the key in the usual way when starting. He did'nt bring it to a main dealer but any ideas as to a root cause would be welcome. Mick.

    Guy at work has a 07 Santa Fe diesel as well and his starter went last week,maybe its a flaw with them.

    Did he get the starter recon. By the sounds of "keep staring" u mean the starter is running in after the key is let off yes.if it was recon job just bring it back as maybe he missed something when overhauling it. Also if u mean it's packed up altogether twice in 3weeks could it be a fault with the flywheel breaking down mayb something like the old mondeo used to do

    You might be right there with the DMF, the Santa Fe eats them.
