Best shop for the older bike?

I've an old bike, its older then I am but its in excellent condition and still cycles really well (82' Miyata 610 for those that are interested). I see no need to stop using it.

Anyway, I've yet to go into a shop where they care about about something of its age and have some knowledge about it. I've had my local bike shop charge me and not fix a fairly obvious problem and a 'reputable' shop in Lucan tell me complete porkies to try sell me some new parts. Ehhh no thanks, I don't like that attitude.

I do 90% of the maintenance myself, but there is certain tools I don't have and would not have the expertise to use. A headset press for example. I don't have one and could not afford one to be honest. That's a shop job for me then.

I'm in and out of Dublin most days so I don't mind going there. I'm at home in Kildare so there suits aswell. But I need a place that doesn't look at me like I've three heads when I bring in a bike with a freewheel and a threaded headset :D

Square Wheel in Temple Bar always seem to have plenty of old/rare/weird bikes in the shop.

Kieran is always very busy though so you may have to leave it in for a few days.

I've not seen a single other Miyata in Ireland before. They were never officially imported here but I'd say there is a few hiding in sheds about the place. Not seen a single mention about them on the internet here though.

I'm not out in the west anymore sadly, I miss it greatly though. Roll on the summer though and hopefully I'll get back. :D

Vintage bike cave? Sounds like a shop I could spend days and more in :D

Loyal for a reason! And that reason is not exorbitant prices. :)
