Beer, tasty beer or larger if it's about. When/if that runs out though...steal the couple of bottles of nice red wine the girlfriend has set aside.

Try and get to bed at least 15mins before she's due to get up and there's no shit to be had. Otherwise, greet her with a cheeky drunken smile and let her know, you'll be taking over the front room for the day with your mates. Expect a drunken mess to appear at some stage. The next day, pretend that the wine never existed (you bought it anyway) and all is right with the world.

White or Rose, cant drink Red because as soon as I take a sip I get pains in my Jaw/ears.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,059 ✭✭✭Sindri

    Red.

I don't sip wine so white just makes me feel sick. Red is usually what I prefer, used to drink 2 bottles a night. Turned into a right little connoisseur.

    Red.

    Cannot stand white at all.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    White wine, freezing cold. Yum!

Drank too much rose in my student days and vomited red stuff everywhere. Can't touch it since.

Mostly Red, but like Rosé on occasions. Don't like White too much, too acidic. I like a good Portuguese verde though. Muralhas is very good.

Try avoid chewing on the glass, might help your jaw as for your ears..dunno.

I wonder why men generally seem to prefer red wines while women seem to prefer white. I guess I can see why men are capable of drinking heavier reds, but why do they seem to actively prefer them?

As for me, I can only really enjoy rose wine or white. Delicious sitting outside on a Summer evening with friends.

But I'm not going to lie to you, I've necked many's the bottle of buckfast behin the Bernard Shaw in my day:o

There are other types of wines than red, white and Rose.

I like a sweet desert wine like Masandra.

There are only two types of wine in the world.

The first is when you open a bottle of wine, take a sip and exclaim:
'This is awfully, let's drink it quick so that we can move on to the good stuff.'

The second is when you take a sip, and exclaim:
'This is great, I hope you have plenty more of this, as we are going to drink it all.'

Anything else is just rich people talking sh1t to try and sound important.

Have to be red for me.I do drink them all but 90% red.Try to avoid the crappy ones if I can.
The EU has been trying for years to get wine producers to put ingrediants on their labels.Like producers have to do for all other drinks/foodstuffs we consume. But the big producers have been blocking it for years. Not really mad about Eggs and milk in my wine.:D

    Beer is King IMO.

Some of the ingrediants are listed at the end of this article.

Red is my favourite wine. I never used to be a big wine drinker until recently, but for the last few months I have been hooked to Echo Falls, a 13% proof California red. It also helps that it's cheap - you can get two bottles of the stuff at Asda for about £7.

On a cold winter's night I like to lie on the couch under a blanket watching the TV or a DVD and sup the wine. I often get through two whole bottles of the stuff in one night and then wake up in the morning not being able to remember much of the night before.

In red it has to be Crozes Hermitage or a good South African Pinotage (Cinsault).
White, something dry ,perhaps Muscadet de Sevre et Main sur Lie, a good Chablis, or a really nice Pouilly Fuisse or Sancerre.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,137 ✭✭✭44leto

    Red with meat
    White with fish
    Drink enough
    And it make you pissed

Thats all you need to know about wine,
Perhaps you should also remember Beer is nicer.

The wine you can buy in Ireland certainly is muck. Even what passes for a good wine here would be poured down the sink in France. I reckon they just bottle up the dregs and ship them off to other countries. On the other hand if you have an authentic French wine you will be able to tell the difference.

As for what wine, it depends on the situation. Dessert wines for dessert or starter, red wine with red meat, white with fish, and Japanese sake with sushi. If anyone knows where I can purchase a sake serving set in Ireland by the way let me know, the internet has failed me here.

    Sake, my favourite drink!
You can pick up a Sake set in any asian supermarket.
If you arent near an asian supermarket, try ebay.ie, you can find some very interesting Sake sets on there, both new and old. :)
