Viewing a car next week which the owner says there is a fresh year long test on it. How can I check with the NCTS that it's a valid NCT? Ring them up with the Reg number of the car would that do?

Ask to see the full certificate, not just the windscreen sticker.

Have you any reason to be suspicious of the seller OP? NCTS may not give you any info if it's not your car yet.

As said above the seller should have the certificate as well as the disc. Both of these have security features to prevent counterfeiting. So have a good look at them both.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

If you're suspicious about the NCT, why aren't you just walking away?

Call the NCT center and tell them you want to book the car in.

If it has an NCT they won't be able to do it...........
