    guys,

we are thinking of getting a tablet or a labtop.

The device will be mainly used for internet access, play music and movies, need to be able to print from it, would be handy to have word/excel or similar.

    What do people recommend?

iPad would also do those things. Web, Movies, Spreadsheets, and Print to most new wireless printers.

Agreed, BTW have a look at the spec of the Lenova thinkpad edge over in Bargain alerts that a fellow boardsie picked up with discounts for 529 with an i5.
That would cover all your needs
