    Hi,

Can anyone help me with this, i have autocad full 2010 on a 32bit work laptop, i got a new laptop today and want to install it. the new laptop is 64bit and when i install it, i only get to the autocad screen then it says that: you cannot install this product on the current operating system.

does anyone have an easy soloution for this?

Do you have access to the 64bit installer if you purchased it? I'd say you should tbh

yeah i just got through to I.T. and im to download it and use the same code, sorry silly question, i didnt think they would allow me to get the 64bit if the 32bit was purchased.

    Thanks

Edit, also i transfered the adobe stuff and its installed and opening a 32bit version, i thought it may be possible to do with cad too.

It depends, some software checks requirements on startup, others do not. Your license is to use the software, the 32/64bit is irrelevent as most software will use the same licensing scheme regardless.Even if you buy windows 7 Pro 32bit (for e.g) and you only get a 32bit dvd, if you used a 64bit dvd and installed Windows it should activate with your product key no issues!

Obviously Adobe don't do those checks so :) . You have the option of running Photoshop 32bit or 64Bit on a 64Bit machine if you want :)

there is no way at all i can do that with cad?
i need it for in the morning and my internet at home is f*ked, i can leave it with I.T. to sort out tomorrow evening, but i really need it for the morning, clients are here for a couple of days and they are flying out tomorrow evening.
if its not possible at all i think i'll go to I.T.'s home now and have them download it..

If you have Windows 7 professional or higher you can install Windows XP mode which is a 32bit virtualised OS. Thats the only advice I can think of :)

Yeah, when I got AutoCAD through college, I downloaded the 64 bit version. A few others in the class downloaded the 32 bit version, and couldnt get it to run on their 64 bit computers, and vice versa.

I'm sure there is some workaround, but it's not worth the hastle, plus the 64 bit will run better.
