Best IDE for Android

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can suggest the most suitable IDE for Android, preferably one with some kind of emulator. I'm fairly new to programming and up to now have been using Netbeans. I'm not so entrenched in it that i'd mind going off and learning another IDE. I've seen recommendations for Eclipse and IntelliJ as well as Netbeans.

I know there probably isn't a "best" per se, but i'm looking for something that is widely used and recommended.

    Thanks.

I've tinkered a bit before going back to learn java fully and I found eclipse very useful. Android's setup guides seem to give focus to eclipse and I found it very easy to setup along with an emulator without ever having used it before.

This statement is qualified with the fact that I'm quite the newbie still and haven't tried to use Android through the other IDEs.

Eclipse is the Google recommended IDE, you'll get full install details here. It comes with an emulator too.

If you use anything but Eclipse you're asking for heartache down the line.
