    Galway Triathlon Club Beginners Morning: An Introduction to Triathlon and Afternoon Lecture Series

    Date: Sat Jan 28th Venue: Promenade Suite, Salthill Hotel

    Want to find out more about triathlon and take up the challenge of becoming a Triathlete in 2012? Are you keen on taking your running, swimming or cycling interests to another dimension? Then this is the perfect opportunity to find out how you can take on the sport of Triathlon with Galway Triathlon Club, get fit, have fun and make new friends! Both events are open to members and the general public.

    Two events will take place on the day:

    The Beginners Event 9.30am -1.30pm

    This event is open to athletes of all abilities who have an interest in testing the waters of Triathlon racing. Admission to this event is free. The Beginners Event will include a general triathlon information session for the beginner/newbie triathlete, triathlon training tips and plans for all distance races, demonstrations on transitions in Triathlon racing and an opportunity to meet with many members of Galway Triathlon Club (GTC). All attendees at the Beginners Event can avail of a GTC Swim analysis session by our expert swim team in Ocean Fitness on the day. Pre-registration for the Beginners Event is advised to register your interest email: beginner@galwaytriathlonclub.com.

    Lecture Series 2pm -5pm

    Galway Triathlon Club will also host a series of lectures on Triathlon specific related issues for all levels of triathlete from newbies to elites. Sessions include; bike technique and skills, running principles and technique, triathlon specific training plans, nutrition for the triathlete, injury prevention for the multisport athlete and swim training and techniques. Admission to the Lecture series is €5 per person for members and non members. Sign in on the day is from 1.30pm, series starts at 2pm sharp.
