Ok this is probably answered somewhere here but I can't find it, so here goes! I am thinking about cancelling my sky subscription in favour of Netflix. If I do this what freeview channels will be available on the sky receiver? Oh and when Irish broadcasting goes digital, will these stations be available on the same freeview receiver?

You will not get Freeview at all as it is a terrestrial service mostly to the UK received through and aerial.

You will, as far as I know not having Sky, get the Free to Air channels on a Sky box which are received through a satellite dish. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free-to-air_channels_at_28%C2%B0E for list of channels.

You will not get Saorview, Irish tv, with that receiver. You will need a separate aerial and saorview box. See http://www.saorview.ie/

Also, Netflix is a subscription movie service that you can only watch with a internet enabled tv, laptop connected to a tv or through a games machine connected to your tv, See https://signup.netflix.com/HowItWorks
