You're going to have to do the work yourself. The more insurance companies/brokers you ring, the better chance you'll have of getting the best price. Get the phonebook out tomorrow and ring around to as many brokers and insurance companies you can find and see.

Check, Aviva, Axa, Quinn, 123.ie and Onedirect.ie, whichever is cheapest you can perhap knock 10-20% at max off it by ringing around others.

Nearly all of the local insurance "companies" you see on the street are Insurance brokers.

Insurance company = provides the policy e.g. AXA, Alianz, Quinn. Will sell you their policies only. Usually you buy through brokers and/or directly.

Insurance broker = independent agent for multiple insurance companies. Not tied to any particular insurer and therefore will recommend and sell you a policy from whatever company offers you the best deal.

You can often get different quotes even for the same policy on-line, or ringing the insurer directly or going through a broker.
Often by talking to someone you can negotiate a lower price.

Try multiple insurance companies and try multiple brokers too.
