So, if you could pick any 5 people to form an Irish 'Eggheads' quiz team, who would you pick.? ('yore ma' isnt a viable option..)

My top 5 would be Ryan Tubridy as an expert for politics and history..
Vincent Browne, Brian Kennedy & Paul Martin just to see what would happen, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers for eye candy..

he did in his hole get 600 points. unless he repeated a good few times. might've gotten 60.

going by his age, when he did the leaving, the points system was different. 10 points for an A and the like, with no A1, A2, etc.
NUI colleges had a different points system to trinity.

Was there? He did the leaving in 1990 or thereabouts.

So much to learn on boards today! So much knowledge!

yeah, the new system came in around the mid 90s.
some colleges gave half points too.
then there was the matric exams that you could use to bump up your points for NUI colleges.

I don't think degrees in maths and theoretical physics have gotten easier.

George Hook - an expert on every topic.
Brendan Kilkenny - to perform a celebtratory scissors kick when team reaches victory
3 randomers excluding yore ma as she is not a viable option.

Ryan would have been no use on a quiz but he'd have cleaned up on one of those tours to the old coke factory out by the Naas Rpad!

Tourguide : "Ok boys and girls, you had the tour of the factory, but I hope you have been paying attention because now it's question time! Question: Which city was Coke first sold in? Anyone?"

    Gerry : "Atlanta Georgia!"

Tourguide : "Correct! Give that man a gram of coke!"

Pat Gibson - All, very intelligent, but often afraid to speak his mind completely on the British show. I think CJ (who, I must include is definitely the worst Egghead intimidates him.

Vincent Browne - Politics, of course. i can imagine him having a good general knowledge too.

Brian Kennedy - Music and the arts.

One of my teachers who i won't name :P

Can't think of anyone else, maybe Brian Dobson or something

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,090 ✭✭✭BengaLover

CJ comes over as someone completely devoid of any sense of humour(or fashion sense).

Are you sure it's not you who has 60 points. Judging by your immature arguement it's probably slightly beyond your reach.

    He got 9 A1s actually.

Woe betide the next comedian who says "eh" at the end of a joke. O'Briain will have him up in court.

Most suggestions thus far are useless. The opposing team gets to choose a member of the other team to compete against, seems fairly stupid in such a situation to pick people with "specialist" subjects.

To those with Louis Walsh to cover the music, he's clearly going to be picked on in science or history. Need people with a rounded knowledge, like Georgia Salpa.
