A group of us are heading over to Sligo from 12th-15th April and have booked to play Rosses Point Championship, Enniscrone and Strandhill on the Sligo Links golf pass, a great deal by the look of things. Playing Rosses Point on the morning of Friday 13th. Just wondering if anyone has played the 9 hole Bomore course at Rosses Point as we're thinking of giving it a go in the afternoon that day?

Bomore and The Point will be in excellent condition as it's the week after The West of Ireland Champs

The Bowmore course is as flat as a pancake and largely featureless and should be in good nick by then. Many members don't really like it as it gobbles up balls at no rate if you are anyways loose off the tee due to fairly tight fairways and very punishing rough. Overall its a good mix of easy, moderate and a couple of tough holes, arguably the hardest par 5 in Rosses Point is on the Bowmore course. The greens are smaller than the main course and not always pristine. Its quite popular during the summer with OAPs(very user friendly course) and beginners and theres also a new driving range right beside the Bowmore.

Bomore is Not sh**e but a bit featureless and bland- would do to donegal(murvagh)- about a half hour drive but a true gem- hope you enjoy strandhill - maybe give me a pm a couple of days before you come over and I will organise a "with a member" rate

Thanks, I appreciate the offer. We're playing Strandhill on Thursday 12th. Playing the 3 on the Sligo Links pass, seems like a great deal! (if you can do better than that.....!!!!) Rosses Point and Enniscrone obviously have the reputation but from what I have heard and read Strandhill is an excellent trek also, well worthy of keeping up with it's more famous companions.
