I have one of them 30 day dublin travel passes for the bus. And for a couple of days, when I put it up to the thing, to swipe it to get on the bus, it just says 'ticket no valid' 'please represent' again, and again. Irritating. Any help?

    First of all, DON'T SWIPE.

The ticket is read by touching the ticket against the reader for approx. 0.5 seconds.

Do you have more than 1 ticket in a wallet, etc. , this will cause the reader to reject your card also.

Press and hold against the validator (dont wiggle shake or dance). If a dodgy card return. Ask the driver for a printoff of its history.

Are you happy that this is a legitimate ticket that you bought from an official agent?

Yeah I got it from soar, and it worked fine for a few days. I meant hold like, not swipe :o and it just always says 'please rereprent card' and so I have to give it To The driver.

    Not to worry. :)

I would suggest you call in to Dublin Bus in O'Connell Street and get them to test the card.

Is it possible you are trying to use an old card that you had?

I'l do that :) Funny, this morning, it worked fine. Today, it didn't work, no response at all, this afternoon like. If its broken or whatever, do I get a replacement?

    I would think it's a faulty chip.

I have come across a few similarly affected.

I'd bring it back to head-office,not forgetting to mention a level of embarrassment and inconvienence you've endured.

There is something of a grey-area surrounding the procedure to be followed when a pasengers RFID card fails......as a Culture,we just Lurrrrvvve Grey areas.....:(
