Vintage machinery enthusiasts from around the country will congregate in Taughmaconnell later this month for the highly anticipated annual South Roscommon Vintage Auto Jumble and show.
The popular event, featuring a massive indoor and outdoor exhibition of trade stands, takes place on Sunday, January 30 next in Taughmaconnell Community Centre, one of the highlights of which will be a most interesting static display of old time tractors, motor cars and agricultural machinery. The organisers also promise attractions to appeal to all age groups at the event.
Among the trade stands in attendance will IVETA (Irish Vintage Engine and Tractor Association) insurance brokerage who can offer keen rates for vintage tractors, motor car and motor cycle insurance.
Acknowledged in the past as the very first auto jumble to be held in the region, members of South Roscommon Vintage club are again looking forward to welcoming back enthusiasts from as far away as Wexford, Tipperary, Sligo and Monaghan who travelled to the rural venue last year.
The show on Sunday, January 30 next at Taughmaconnell Community Centre runs from 11am to 5pm on the day and patrons will be able avail of plenty of free parking adjacent to the venue.
Established since 1997, South Roscommon Vintage Club, a very active group, boasts over 80 members at present.
Some of the activities they have undertaken over the last year include exhibiting at the Roscommon Ploughing Championships back in April, along with a fundraising road run for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind in May and a traditional style threshing in October.
For further details call South Roscommon Vintage club Secretary Liam Keogh 087 7565147.
