    Saorview approved? i got a box on ebay for 25euro works fine and they say its free how is it free when there bringing out this no broadcasting charge
    Saorview are just a money making racket dont listen to what they say get the boxes alot cheaper and that do the same thing.

    And if it stops working in a few months when Saorview makes a change which is incompatible with your box, no doubt you'll be complaining again.

    That reminds me, I must immediately start broading so I can avoid the no broading charge.

    Saorview are making no money on this as they don't manufacture, sell or test any products, in fact it's costing them over €70 million to convert the network from analogue to digital.

    Its easy to update on boxes that's no problem,and get the rubbish channels, Saorview so who is behind this money making racket because thats all they are prob rte is

    The reason they won't recommend non approved boxes is in the main because they want to be certain red button services will work for you and rte will be making money from that.
    Also of course they don't want their channels in the 800's in multichannel areas.

    It has to be said that there ARE commercial reasons here aswell.
    The 70 million is a by d by,it's going to be paid back by the licence fee.It's essentially a very expensive modernisation of the transmission network which is publically owned so publically funded with some commercial income.
