    Hi,

I want to make some granola and the recipe calls for rolled or jumbo oats. Are these the same as porridge oats? If not, would porridge oats be a viable substitution?

    Cheers

Jumbo oats are the exact same only a bit bigger. Your normal run of the mill porridge oats can be a bit dusty in things like granola so it's just nicer to use the jumbo oats.

A jumbo oat is basically a regular rolled oat only it hasn't been chopped up into smaller bits like most porridge makers tend to do. Jumbo oats, FTW.

You'd really need the jumbo variety for granola.
