Does the Irish Dell customer service still exist?

I've tried emailing through the site and got no reply, then tried calling the number and got through to dell America. I got another Irish number off them and it brought me to some guy's answering machine!!

I've got a laptop that's within warranty and badly needs a service, has anyone any contact details that might be of use? They used to be pretty swift with the last dell laptop I had, any problems it gave me had a techy out to my house the following day to replace/fix what was needed. This type of customer service is the reason I stayed with them and got extended warranty, hopefully it still exists!

Nope, as far as I know the only thing left in Ireland is the highly specialised support desks for enterprise products. Some of it was sent to Glasgow, most of it has gone to India.

    Cheers for the info.

So what are dell customers supposed to do now? Why give a call-out warranty with my laptop where there is nobody to call out?

They have people in the country that they will send out, but the call centre that arranges that isn't based here.

Nice one, well even if they just send me what I need I can do it myself, but I'd rather have a techy present to open it so I don't void the warranty. I tweeted @dellcares to see if they can give me a contact number or email.

Didn't get through to any Indian support, just a guy in Oklahoma who gave me the Irish number which turned out to be wrong. I'll try again during business hours tomorrow.

Just the 434334 number, didn't see the other numbers in the links I followed, thanks for that, I'll try try fist thing in the the morning. That's probably why I was put through to US office, the Irish one was closed.

    Cheers for the help everyone.

If you got a US support no, you probably went through Dell.com.

Try Dell.ie and click on Support.

No it was defo from the Irish site, I remember because when an American accent answered the phone I got confused but I looked at the top left of the screen and saw the tri-colour, and I was logged in with my registered laptop and product number on dell.ie.

Getting connected to the US Call centre isn't necessarily a good thing. I've been connected there twice and both times I felt like throwing the phone against the wall at their indifferent tones, rudeness and refusal to even bother listening to what you're telling.

On the other hand, Dell's Indian call centre is very good. I haven't had any issues with them.

Bad sectors on hard drive so it needs to be replaced.

Bluetooth hardware has stopped working, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling with drivers with no joy, it seems like a hardward failure. Tried reflashing it, still didn't work.

Overheats like crazy, the ventilation on this model is brutal (Dell Studio XPS 16), I want to open and blow out the dust but opening the case would mean voiding the warranty so best to have a Dell techy present.

Apparently, according some Dell forums, owners of this model are entitled to a new higher wattage power supply as one of the BIOS updates meant the new BIOS drew more power, so I want to inquire about that.

And the most recent thing is my digital TV tuner has stopped working, I used it all the time and it just all of a sudden stopped picking up stations.

What kind of warranty is on it?
If it's 'collect and return' they won't be sending a tech unless you pay extra.
Or did you upgrade the warranty?

Its been a few years since there was any Non-Enterprise Customer Service agents based in Cherrywood. Most went to Poland. All thats there now is Enterprise (Server) support and Sales. Started round 2007/8 when they pulled XPS Support.

I got the best one they had, well, 3 years instead of 5 years. It's the same warranty I had for the last latptop and they twice sent out technicians to replace parts at no charge so I should be ok.

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone help. I have tried to get in touch with Dell Ireland customer support but no luck. I paid for two dell ink cartridges on 04/02/2015 by credit card and thank God have the print-out of same with Dell logo on top to prove it, but no confirmation order form which usually follows by email. How will I go about getting my hard earned €50 back?? any ideas please.

    Margaret

Or ask your credit card company to do a chargeback.
