Yes i would HIGHLY reccomend doing it on another computer as yours may have a keylogger and just incase download avast and run a boot time scan aswell as a full malware bytes scan

What type of mail are you using (i.e. is it a mail client like Outlook or is it webmail like Gmail?

Is the email showing up in your sent items? If it's not, then it probably wasn't sent from your email account, it just used your address. It is VERY easy to pretend that an email came from a certain address, even if it didn't.

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

i use iternet explorer and yahoo. The email is in mail sent mailbox plus my contacts have been bombarded by emails. I looked into the log and it was accessed from india hailand etc in recent days

It happened to me too and I use the same as you, Internet Explorer and Yahoo mail. It happened Saturday night and then again on Sunday night. My father and all my contacts got both emails. It was just a website link, nothing else in the email. First time I thought I might have done it by mistake but the second time I hadn't been on the internet all day so I knew it wasn't me.

I ran avast and that boot scan thing and it got rid of a suspicious file. I stopped the scan early because it was taking too long. I used my own computer to change my passwords. I assume whatever it was is now gone because since changing my yahoo password no new emails have been sent from my account by someone else. I blame Yahoo not Internet Explorer. I had to change all my passwords, not just yahoo because I store my passwords in yahoo notepad. I'm never doing that again.

Then someone has your password. Change it, and make sure your backup option of gaining entry isn't easy to use
