just wondering what is the best lowcost (under 100 euro) android phone available in the Irish mkt?
samsung europa or vodafone smart or other? better meaning ok camera, not too slow.
for a basic user - no games, just a few apps.
can root phone if necessary if that will improve perf.
    must be new, not secondhand.

Got an xperia x8 for my mam as a gift and played around with a good bit. For the price i have to say i think it's very good (79.99 payg i think). Any apps i tried ran fine, the camera is decent if not amazing (but again you have to consider the price), the screen (3") is very reasonable quality, connectivity features are good. For 79.99, i couldn't fault it really. Nice cheap option to get into the Android world. Other options i might consider are the Samsung Galaxy Y (99.99) and the Samsung Galaxy mini (same price), though the Y comes with a more up-to-date version of Android, and it's processor is a bit faster (800Mhz v 600Mhz). Lastly, the xperia x10 mini might be worth a mention - if you can find it anywhere - i've heard very good things said about it. it's small, but the camera is supposed to be very good 5MP autofocus led flash etc (probably better than any of the phones i've mentioned above), likewise i've heard it runs Android fairly smoothly. Anyway, a few ideas there
