    Hi,

I am planning on cycling the whole eurovelo 6 route from Nantes to Constanta. I looked up the eurovelo 6 websites for maps and they are expensive!!! I would love to buy them off somebody else who has done the route?

Also any advice for the trip would be much appreciated. I plan on starting my trip in June and spending 3 months cycling it.

    Thanks,
    Triona :)

I usually buy regional maps on tour, they cost about €5 and if you're lucky you'll get two days out of one. Once you have an over-view of where you're going this is fairly easy to follow. The EV routes are usually marked. I assume you've seen the route specific site?

I wouldn't bother getting too many or too detailed maps. It's just too much stuff to carry. You certainly need a map for the big-picture overview. After that you'd be better off with a GPS for detailed route finding. The opencyclemap data for the first half (the western half) of that route is pretty good.

Thanks, I had seen the route specific site and will prob end up buying maps on route. I didn't know about the opencyclemap so thanks for letting me know about that :)

I cycled parts of it last year. Just popped into the local tourist office and they have that section and possibly the neighbouring ones.
The route itself is well signposted, and the scenery nice. Campsites are cheap and available as were hotels.

If you're interested in going the GPS route, then I might be able to help making the correct OSM maps. Also, there's a life-saving collection of GPS data for campsites here: http://www.archiescampings.eu/eng1/

    hey,

that seems to be a good link from a couple that did it last year, and they have map/guide for sale on the site 5 pounds, i havenmt bought it yet buy i will, cos i need all the help i can get!! the GPS route doesnt seem necessary for the Eurovelo, very well signposted and if worried about weight (as we all are) can post maps home after you have used them for a section...

What kind of money was a tent pitch?

    Cheers :)
