Money down the toilet

I was listening to the radio last week and I was shocked to hear that TDs get a 3.5k yearly allowance for dry cleaning. Absolutely disgraceful, I don’t think I need to point out why. Its hard listening to them tell us how we’re all taking the pain!

Anyways I am wondering is there anybody that knows other blatant examples of taxpayers money being squandered, no matter how big or small, if it be perks, allowances, payments, tax loopholes, that could be plugged to save our taxes from being flushed down the toilet?

Would it not be easier to make a list of areas where our tax dollars are well spent? It'd certainly be shorter.

It certainly would seeing as we pay taxes in euros ;)

Who does their dry cleaning in the toilet?

Maybe the high dry cleaning costs are a throw back to when Mary Harney was in government. They could still be charging danger money not realising Mary has fcuked off with a monstrous pension.

I hear 2 new licences are being introduced. One for breathing in and one for breathing out. There's also a mandatory fine for complaining about it.
... politicians are scum by nature. Weasels and filthy liars.

This is silly! Why can't they just do what I do. I wear one shirt Mon-Wed and then a different one Thurs & Fri. The Thurs & Fri shirt is then worn Mon - Wed of the following week and so on. I wear the same trousers all week.

This is both environmentally friendly and if you buy your shirts in Pennys means you only spend 12.50 a year on shirts.

It reminds me of when Lawrence Dallaglio (an English rugby player from the 90/00's) was selected for the first time for England. When he went to their hotel to check in he was surprised to see Jason Leonard (another English rugby player from the same era) checking in with 3 or 4 big bags compared to Dallaglio's 2. At the time the game was amateur so the players didn't get paid. They did get free dry cleaning on England duty though so Leonard had brought the curtains from his home to get cleaned :pac:.

seems they get a 750 euro a year for mobile phone (my job pays 15 euro a month for unlimited calls 180 per year)

8k Constituency Travel Allowance (driving around their constituency) and 5k misc. allowance (wtf is that?)

so i've decided to be a TD
