Aer Lingus seat selection not working?

    I recently booked flights, selected the plus option which includes a checked in bag and seat selection.

    I selected my seats for both outbound and inbound flights but the inbound flight seat map weeks later shows that the seats I selected are still available!!

    I have a print off confirming my selected seats for both flights but if I go into manage my booking it asks me to select seats for the return flight just wondering that if the flight is full could there be a potential problem with two groups with the same seats selected?
