She's been well loved and is a lovely little looker. How much will she go for when all is said and the deal is done?

It's worth what a lad would pay, €1000 or thereabouts? Tis clean looking.

Hmmm - I'd say that's a bit optimistic - no offence to the owner - it does look very clean. If it was a Gti maybe - but as you say - it's worth what someone will pay for it.

Well as you asked the question, I would reckon with nct the car is worth 7 to 800 euros tops. Market for cars over 10 year old is weak due to 12 month nct etc but best of luck with the sale.;)

I'd put it at about 700 to 800 but be prepared to have a lot of folk call who are going to drive it till it dies.

You'll have to hold out to get it a good home

Yes, make sure a guy who will mind it buys it. It's not quite a collectors car as such at the min, it could get used as a daily.

The Swift flew though the NCT!!! No problems at all! Only went down on the front left tyre being below the 1.6 mm min thread allowance. She is on the road for another year! Classic next year!!! :):)

I believe classic is 30 years.

Classic = 25 years old. My car is 1988. Next year it will be classic :).

I believe vintage is 30 not classic:

According to Irish legislation, a car is deemed "Vintage" when according to its Date of First Registration, the car is older than 30 years

Have the NCT Cert now...2013! Great car :):)

For motor tax purposes 30 years is the limit, which is what I was referring to (badly worded). There are no inherent advantages at 25 years, except perhaps insurance, although I've managed to get classic insurance on my '86 LeBaron since 2007.

    Hey Sabre,

What company did you get the insurance cover from? Is there are limitations to getting classic insurance?Like a set mileage?

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Have a look in the charter, will. There is a link in there with lots of info about classic insurance. Since it is your weekend car, presumably your are over 25 and your car is over 20 years old, you can probably get classic insurance

    Read that thread though!

As others said, classic tax (€52 per year) will only apply when your car is 30 years old and your car will have to be NCTd every year, forever...

I think it was Carole Nash. Limited mileage as my second car.
