    Folks
I'm looking for recommendations for sun holiday locations to bring the family. Its our first holiday abroad with the two kids who are 6 & 4.

We will probably stay in hotel or apartment tied to hotel in order to make use of ammenities.

I would like somewhere that is not too hot, child friendly and interesting. A mix of good sights and play things for the kids would be great.

Preferably recommendations for specific facilities or locations not costa de sol or something like that.

We are looking at going early july or late August.

Would you try a camping holiday?

That's the way my family and I have holidayed for the past 3 years and we would never go on those sun holiday packages again.

There is so much for children to do, especially for children the same ages as yours. There are outdoor swimming pools, playgrounds and evening entertainment including children's disco.
There are kids clubs, but we have never used them as there is always so much to do.

http://www.keycamp.ie/ have a great selection in France, Spain, Italy and Holland and show how far each site is from the nearest airports. We book the flights and the mobile home independently, and book car hire from a lady near Mullingar. It works out far cheaper then the package holidays.

The last 3 years, we have been to Le Ruisseau in Biarritz, France See my review here

Wouldn't really be into the whole camping thing to be honest.

No probs, but I'll just emphasise we don't do tents and sleeping bags - we stay in either a mobile home or bungalow.
