Lads what's the easiest way to get the full family tree of a dog. Not just the cert but their history including parents, grandparents, FTCs etc

Give the Irish kennel Club a ring 01 4533300, if the dog is registered with them you can get a 5 or 6 generation pedigree. Not sure what it costs though!

The one the IKC will send out is the nice fancy one but the breeder should have given you one when buying the pup. It won't be a nice fancy one and will be more than likely be filled out by hand but it's a generation cert all the same

    Pointers & springer
Just like to have them in the dogs files.
Not all breeders have them or just have poor copies.
I want to get the proper ones

    Gundogs.nu

is a fairly comprehensive cocker and springer database with thousands of working and field trial pedigrees

as far as I know, the dog has to be registered in your name before you can get the pedigree cert from the IKC. Not 100% certain on this but I think thats the case.
Maybe written permission from the registered owner would do too if you are not the registered owner.

about a week or so. log on to ikc website and you'll have to download a form and send it off with money. you'll also have to be registered owner or have permission from owner in writing. 5 generation costs more than 3 generation
