PAYE question

    In the years 2008, 2009, 2010 I claimed medical expenses but at the time they were small.

    Anyway, I claimed for 2011 last week, no hassle , got my rebate, while I was at my doctors last week to get all my medical recipts for 2011 incase the revenue wanted them, referrals etc he asked did I want the last few years receipts too, so he gave me them, turns out I didn't claim for alot more I was entitled too mainly from referalls / scans etc as had major problems with my health from the period 2008-2010.

    Is it possible to now claim for these ? on revenue.ie there is an option, even though there were small amounts paid out would I still be entitled to a rebate from the the years 2008/2010 if I update the screens ?

    Yes. Just update the figures and submit.

    Is it only possible to request the years from 2008 - present on PAYE.ie, what if I want to claim for expenses for years previous to 2008 ?

    It is no longer possible. Revenue have a four year look back rule for claims. Currently you can go back to 2008. As of 01/01/13 you will only be able to go back to 2009.
