Scenic runs in/around Belfast

Will be up in Belfast shortly for the weekend and wondered if anyone out there can recommend a decent 3 hour scenic run route in or around Belfast. I'll be staying in the city centre and would prefer to run from there if possible (but if need to get into a car no problem). The run would be part of a marathon training programme, so if there were a few hills, would be no bad thing!

I was in Stormont a year ago with work and I ran along a cycle track which went for about 14 miles I think. It ran between Belfast and Comber. There is a huge network of them so it may be worth googling to see if there are any near you .
Also , part of the Belfast marathon route takes you along the seashore and towards the end down past the university and along the river .
have a look at mapmyrun and see if anything for Belfast shows up.
    Enjoy.

Many thanks. Will do that. I've run the marathon there a few times and remember clearly the route along the river (twice into a howling gale!)

The Lagan Towpath is great. AFAIK it can be run at least as far as Lisburn. Here's a run I did last year along the towpath.

Belvoir Park is nice for trails too.

Out of the city centre along the Antrim Road, will bring you to the trails of Cavehill, which ticks your hills and scenic boxes. Then back down and head to the Shore Road out along by Jordenstown and the coast for as long as you like, before returning. Twenty years since I did that run, and I can still remember it in my minds eye!:)
