    Hi All ,

I have 2005 ford mondeo ( 1.8 Petrol ). Everytime after leaving my car for a while andwhen i return to start its like it wont kick in to start . Only after about 5 /6 times does it eventually start.
Does it sound like starter. If so how much are they to fix ?

    Cheers

Try this and see if it works. Next time you shut the car off, press the accelerator down fully immediately after you turn the engine off. Then see if you have any problems restarting.

This trick used to work on my 2002 Mondeo 1.8 when I had problems restarting when hot.

I has the sameproblem in my 1.8 2002 mondeo, this problem is made when your butterfly valves in manifold is gone. Look here: http://www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Inlet_Manifold_Fault_-_Duratec

When you replace (it cost aprox 50 euro in ford dealer for four new butterfly valves) or take off butterfly valves this problem shut be gone, but if you have still problem you need adjust this bolt, use first WD-40, just turn right to bolt move down 2-4 mm, you can check this experimentally
