Job seekers allowance and Rent supplement

I was wondering if any one can help me. I have a couple of issues.

At current I am in college, due to finish my degree in May, and hope to get a job once I finish. If I don't manage to get a job, I will be signing on, but have a few questions.

If I manage to get a part-time job, how many hours can you work before it effects ones payments. I know you can work 3 days, but what are the exact hours, as if i manage to get part-time work it will be shift work. Also if you worker 20 hours, how exactly would it effect your payment.

My second question is in relation to rent supplement, my boyfriend is in receipt of rent supplement, and I was planing on moving in with him once I finish college. How will this effect his rent supplement. I have been renting for the last 9months, and will not be able to pay rent once I finish college, as my father was paying my rent while in college. Would I be able to get rent supplement?

Also if I do move in with my boyfriend and I do manage to get a job, will he lose his rent supplement. If he does lose his rent supplement if I moved out after a number of months, would he be able to get it again?

Sorry for all the questions, but am quite confused.

Any income may affect entitlements to JA. However, you will invariably be better off working. If you are working part-time, I get the impression the limits are the amount you earn and the number of days you work, not hours. If one party is earning, this may affect the entitlement of the other party to JA.

Couples, whether in shared accommodation or not, are usually entitled to slightly more rent supplement than a single person. See the table here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/supplementary_welfare_schemes/rent_supplement.html The entitlement to rent supplement would be based on the two of you as a couple and your combined incomes.
