PC lost power, wont restart

    Just looking for an opinion on this. Reckon it might be the psu.

    Was on the pc just there, nothing intensive only Chrome and itunes on. Computer just powered off, like you pulled the cord.
    It now won't restart. No response at all to the power button. I've checked the breaker box, the socket,iced the tower to another sockets in another room and nothing.
    There is a green light on on the motherboard so presumably some power is going in, since it stops if I pull the cord.
    Opened the case and nothing seemed to be overheated either.

    I'd say PSU too, although a PSU failing can also take other components with it. I would try borrow a PSU from someone to confirm that is the issue, or if its something else

    Yeah I'm hoping hoping the hd is alright, been a while since I backed up. :/

    Symptoms are similar to when the fan in your PSU fails. Safety circuitry prevents any large current being provided.

    If so, should mean that everything else is ok.
