Ive a caad 10 that has a bb30 bb on it and im looking at putting a different chainset onto it, is there only certain chainsets that can be put into a bb30 bottom bracket? curently have some fsa one on it and was thinking of putting an ultegra one on but will compatibility be an issue?

Pretty sure you can get an adaptor to make the Ultegra cranks work but they won't work without it

any idea where they can be got?

Well here's a KCNC one from the US but you can probably get one in the UK somewhere!

    KCNC make lovely kit!

I'm using one of those KCNC adapters to make my 105 cranks work with my BB30 frame. It does work but I'd prefer to use a native BB30 crank and forego the need for adapters or such.

Wheels manufacturing available from Madison and I'm pretty sure SRAM do em too, available from Fishers both in the U.K.

Why do you want an Ultegra crankset on your BB30? The FSA one is at least as good. Any Shimano stuff would need an adapter. There are other BB30 cranksets, i.e. FSA, Sram Force and Red, etc.

just out of interest what are some of the best bb30 chainsets? SRAM red? i know there are some crazy expensive FSA ones but tbh i dont know much about the brand

Did you not buy the bike new recently Sean? Why are you changing the cranks so soon?

tbh the only reason i was looking at changing the chainset was because i really like the look of the shimano 105/ultegra/dura ace chainsets :o nothing wrong with the fsa gossamer one really, but then i am also trying to build up some spare parts as im thinking of buying a planet x frame later this year (money permitting of course) and building it up

I have the Sram Red that I was using on my other bike. Very good set, very stiff, light and durable. It is not the most expensive set, but one of the good ones for sure.

yeah the black one (with i think carbon cranks) looks the business alright, not too crazy price wise either

Yah, the black with yellow (Limited Tour Edition) is what I have on my bike. The Sram chainrings are slightly better than the FSA in my opinion and the teeth are smoother machined.

Oh Cannondale also do an adapter that press fits into a BB30 shell to bring it down to a standard shell, you need some special loctite for the job but it works pretty well, I fitted one a few years ago and it's still going strong!
