Always liked him as a manager. Results weren't there though. Shame.

Seems to be a rumour on twitter started by TeamTalk. Could be confirmed, it is not like it is undeserved.

Plenty mentioning it. The press gathering at Mollineaux.

Should have just kept McCarthy on if their aim was relegation.

mccarthy is a very good manager imo

i'd take him at the villa

if he has the players to do it he'll play good football (as we saw with ireland) and if he doesnt have the players he'll play the ugly stuff that works (most of the time)

Nothing on Sky. Mick's done a fantastic job at Wolves. I'd be surprised if true!

Strange time to be sacking him, Sunday evening, surely they're just rumours?

    Nothing on SSN.

This doesn't appear to be true. Just a rumour!

It was actually a fake SSN twitter post that made me post this (didn't know it was, apologies). Rumours flying around but as yet nothing solid.

Would be happy to be wrong on this one.

I remember it took SSN 30 minutes to get the news about Warnock on their screen

If they did sack him I'd hope they'd get Keane in, serve them right.

No way would they sack him.

Karl Henry should be sacked before Mick for yesterday's insanity at 2-2.

Steve Morgan apparently said last week that Wolves were one of the highest spending sides in the league, and that most of their deals were for far more then what was reported. I like McCarthy, but he has spent a significant amount (about £12m net a year over the last 3) relative to those around him without progressing much since being promoted. I don't follow Wolves closely so I'm open to correction

Seen something earlier as well about Harry Redknapp quitting Spurs immediately and becoming England manager. Paul McGrath even tweeted congradulating him!

Fake Sky Sports News account methinks.
