Personally wouldn't buy either - both have Suntour forks which most people don't rate! I'm fairly sure you can get a Canyon or Boardman with better specs for similar money?

eugh those are pretty horrible tbh, are you buying with the cycle to work scheme? if not get this canyon, as RPL1 pointed out those forks for that price is nuts, nearly all mtb's at the grand range come with a pretty decent frame, hydraulic brakes, and at least a rock shox recon fork

btw are you using the bike as a mtb?

What do you want the bike for , Mountain biking? cycling to work ?

This Boardman, which is the same price as the KTM, has a far better spec! Much better buy in my opinion!

if its going to be mostly roads with a little off road id suggest getting a cyclo cross bike, they are pretty much road bikes with tyres that can go off road, this is a nice bike

you wont get a bike thats great at both road and off road though, another option is to get a hardtail mtb and stick some slick tyres on it for road use and then pop the mtb tyres on when ever you feel like going off road

Cheers for all the info guys, the advice i've been given in three bike shops was to go for the hybrid as the mtb would be too uncomfotable for long road spins. The roads around me are rough enough not the smoothest.I was originally thinking of this one.

    Anyway thanks again.

i have a hardtail giant xtc at the moment i have slicks on her trust me shes as good as any hybrid out there and when my friends call me for a trail spin put on the wide tires, when its snowing put on tires with studs you cant get that versatility with a hybrid.

i do tallaght to bray and back every saturday or sunday and i find it ok its how the bike was fitted for you and the little things you do to make it comfortable gel seats, padded shorts there is no such thing as a comfortable bike cos at the end of the day your bum will take the brunt of everything.
