Congratulations to Tori Pena who vaulted 4.45m at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno today to raise her own Irish indoor record by 10cm and to raise her absolute PB by 5cm from when she jumped 4.40m in Switzerland last Summer.

She's now qualified for the European Championships in Helsinki, 7cm off the World indoor standard and and 5cm off the Olympic standard - onwards and upwards.

Not wanting to steal Pena's thunder but we don't have many PV threads on here. Holly Bleasdale (GB) went to second on the world indoors all-time list with 4.87m at Lyon yesterday. She even had a shot at Isinbayeva's WR.

Where does Pena train in the winter? I assume she has access to indoor facilities somewhere.

I presume California. Wouldn't be too much need for indoor facilities
