Which car? €10k budget - totally confused

This is another 'which car?' thread.
I've been spending the last few weeks reading this forum, honestjohn and carzone trying to make my mind up on a second hand car purchase.

What I need is a family size car that can hold everything a baby and wife requires, with isofix.
What I want is either a Veyron, a Bentley or that car that James bond had that was also a submarine (a Lotus Esprit I think)

So I need to compromise.

Some days I look at the adverts and consider getting a cheap Jag, and then spending the rest of the money keeping it on the road. Other days are Mondeo/Octavia days.
I realise that what I need is probably an Octavia, but I hate spending €10k on something that I don't like the look of.

I'd love to hear what you people here think. There are bound to be cars that I haven't even considered, and I'd really appreciate a bit of direction.

Thanks for that johnos1984. I have looked on carzone and there are Imprezzas on there. Unfortunately, many of them seem to have those bits stuck on. It makes it hard to see what the car should look like once the 'extras' have been removed.

You do realise that Impreza's come with spoilers and bonnet scoops as standard don't you?

No I didn't!
I thought that these were items added on afterwards. Amazing what you learn.

So if I go into a showroom, this is what new Imprezzas will look like?

I'd look at an estate, I much prefer the look of them to saloons. All of the following can be had for less then 10K:

Audi A4 Avant

BMW 3 Series Touring

Alfa 159 Sportswagon

New Imprezas have changed shape and are a hatchback now. But if you had bought an Impreza new a few years ago it would have looked like what Draddodx posted above

My suggestion was going to be the A4 Avant aswell. Or else go mad and just buy a RS4 :cool:

+1 for Alfa 159, serious bang for your buck and those 159's do not suffer the quality issues Alfa's were renowned for in the past.

It might be tidy, but it's a boring old 318i which seems to only have seats and a steering wheel as standard - that car is total poverty spec.

absolutely, but its one for the Family car, not the veyron. Is the OP really interested in that 7series for example?

all these 'find me a car threads' end up the same way. This one has been no different.
the OP mentioned an octavia; surely this, for 10k is a better option, sorts out the family, and is at least half easy on the eye!
