    Hey,I was just wondering if someone can help me.I am insured under someone else's name in their car and I was just wondering if I bought a car for myself how would the insurance work?

    Hi in short you will need to get your own separate insurance on the new car. If you want you can then be removed as a named driver on the original car ( may save the other person some money). If you are a full licence holder you should still be able to drive the original car but would only be third party cover, if you are a learner however this option will not apply.

    Not necessarily true, especially for younger drivers. Best ring your insurance company if you're not sure after reading your policy docs.
