Am I entitled to Maternity Benefit?

    Hi All,
I am currently undertaking a full time FAS approved internship which means I still get jobseekers benefit (minimum ammount) plus €50 on top and I do this Monday to Friday.
I have been offered a job a few hours a week on SOME Saturday's so the work isn't consistent. I could only be working every few weeks leading up to when the baby is due in June. I haven't accepted the job yet as I'm unsure if this will affect my internship which I believe will create solid career propects, more so than the job offered.
My question is can I work while i'm on the internship and if i do accept the job will I be entitled to maternity benefit? I have been working right up till June 11 so I'm pretty sure I have enough PRSI accrued.
Could anyone please shed some light on this?
    Cheers

Check out the citizeninformation website, they should have some info on that. As far as I know once you have enough PRSI paid then you can claim Maternity Benefit even if you're only involved in casual work.
