problem creating another PSN account

i want to create another PSN account, already have an american account but wanted to make another but i want a certain username... and when i enter this usernameinto the PSN ID it says ''The online ID you entered cannot be used. Choose another online ID'' I'm using the guidelines and i have put random numbers, _ and - after the username and it comes up with same thing every time. i went back and clicked the ''add a friend'' and entered this username and sent friend request and it comes up with a message... ''the online ID you have entered has not been registered. check that you are using the correct online ID''

whats the problem here, its not taken yet i can't create it no matter if i mix numbers or _ or - in the middle random places, it simply won't create it

Did you try and get rid of _ or -?

I don't think you can use spaces or characters and i think it needs to start with a letter and not a number.

i tried getting rid of the - and _ I'm not using any spaces and I'm starting it with a letter, I'm not using obscenities neither, I'm sticking to all the rules thats whats confusing me.... i don't get it, anyone else had this problem
