On the Phone - Hold Music

    Right, so I do be making alot of calls for work and have been placed on hold more than enough times.

    Usually it's that cheap recorded sh!t played on a loop, sometimes it's a radio station playing. Either way it can be annoying! But all those cheap looped recordings have been topped as of today.

    I just spent the better part of a 20 minute phone call on hold to a particular business. No recordings, no radion station, just this really really annoying 'bing' noise repeated every 10 seconds... it really took the f*ckin' biscuit!!

    i hate it when people use a radio station but the system has such a bad reception of it that it ends up being whitenoise and static with about 2 seconds of audio on a loop

    I remember ringing somewhere years ago, being put on hold and instead of music they were playing a Billy Connolly live album.

    I hate it when you put the phone on loudspeaker and leave it down so that you can do something else, then the music stops playing and you hear some one talking so you jump for the phone turn off the loudspeaker and say "hello" only to hear "You're call is important to us... blah blah blah"

    up until last week the hold music where i work sounded like cheesy 70's porn music... my boss laughed at me but still he changed it after i told what it sound like.

    They should play the sound of ocean waves gently lapping against the shore. By the time they get around to you you're completely blissed out.

    Don't flatter yourself that you were the reason we changed it. Now get back to work and stop being on boards during office hours we don't pay you to be on boards.... :D

    Greensleves means they have a very cheap phone system and was at one stage a symptom of the longest on hold calls, apart from technical support.

    Try phoning Harvey Norman (as I used to have to do occasionally at work) and getting put on hold :eek:
