    Hi folks,
I need an extra hdd in a hurry to fit in a Dvr.
I have one from a pc thats shot and was wondering can I put it in a caddy and run dban or will that also wipe the computer running it. The one I want to wipe is a 500gb sata that has XP pro on it but the mobo is gone and the pc already replaced.
I need to get this sorted for the weekend so any help is really appreciated.

DBan should detect an external hard disk no issues. Just make sure to pick the correct disk! You may need to format the drive after you Dban to FAT32 for your DVR to see it (Assuming FAT32 FS is used by DVR), some will have an internal option to format, not sure many do though!
You may not even need to Dban either, if your keeping the drive a in Windows format will do!
