I'm taking a car for NCT that i know will not pass, the tyres are so bald that there's wire coming out through the rubber.
I will obviously trailer the car to the NCT.
Will the tester complete the test even if there are a s**t load of faults? or is there a stage when the tester will say sod this, this car is in too bad a state to continue.

    Thanks:)

I presume they will refuse to test it if it's deemed a danger to them.

Why are you putting a car through the NCT with bald tyres?

I don't want to put new tyres on it and then possibly have it fail on lots of other stuff.

You will still need new tyres either way though. I don't see any advantage by not putting new tyres on it now unless you are going to scrap it if it fails for too many things.

"Testers may refuse a test in the following circumstances:
    (i) where in their opinion any part of the vehicle or its
equipment is in such a dirty or dangerous condition as
to make it unreasonably difficult to carry out the test."

    Taken from the NCT manual

Overheard a NCT tester tell the customer they were refusing to test his car because the brakes were so bad. Obviously noticed it when bringing the car into the test area...... fair enough I suppose

You could try to find a friend or somebody with another fiesta. They might let you trade wheels for a few hours! Thats my plan with my '97 polo anyway ;)
