If you have to buy instant noodles, hit one of the Asian supermarkets... some tasty, cheap noodles there

ditto, theres some cheap and tasty eats there, and some of the flavours are pretty impressive with several flavour packets inside with pastes, dried veg and sauces instead of just the dried powder crap you usually get in them.

I've eaten them - they're grand. In fairness the powder stuff that comes with them is pretty much flavourless and you'd be better off cooking them with stock from an oxo cube or equivalent. If you do hit the asian supermarket, grab some sriracha sauce. It's spicy but you'll find so many things including noodles are made better with the addition of a bit of this stuff.

+1, I used to get cheap tesco noodles and throw out the flavouring and add in various spices from Asian stores. You can also add in a little cornflour to thicken it up and make a proper sauce.

lol, i guess i'm not the only one who did that then. :D

the tesco ones were actually pretty good if you used your own flavourings.

i was just in lidl getting a few little bits and the woman in front of me left the shop just with 20 packs of the noodles and 3 pineapples. can't help but wonder what she was going to do with them. :)
