Focus radio locked after alternator replaced

Ford Focus 2006 CD6000 radio asking for code after power lost due to alternator replacement.

I have a code generator downloaded off web but I cannot find radio serial number MXXXXXX which is printed on the side of the unit (hidden from view). I don't have keys to remove radio. I've tried two Ford garages today and two mechanics. All have said they cannot help or that I would have to leave the car in at a cost.

Is there any way to find out code or remove radio? I tried 4 knives tonight but it wouldn't budge.

    Thank you!

I read online just now to press 1 and 6 together to get serial..
The text alternates on the screen something like this:
    06-02-06
    CD KW 8
    SWP1-6561
    SWP2 14c044
    SWP3..
    SWP4..

.. Sorry meant to say.. it's not clear what the serial number is from all of that

It also comes up 05-01-02 after CD-KW 8

Anyone got any suggestions on how to obtain serial?

From the scrolling read out from pressing 6 & 1 on the radio as mentioned I saw 2 sets of digits that I thought may be the serial:
    06-02-06
    05-01-02
in an M code generator I found online (assuming it begins with M) and the four digit code out in both cases was "INCORRECT" when entered.

Otherwise I will need to get the keys from Halfordd to take out the radio physically to read the serial.

Do you know which garage originally supplied the car? They should have it on file and if they don't have to take the radio out there shouldn't be a charge.

I'm actually not sure of the original garage. I rang Dunshaughlin Motors who I purchased it second hand from but they could not help as they are not a Ford Dealer officially

Do you have the service book? Should be a stamp on the first page from the supplying Ford dealer.

the code you're looking for should be on the front of the radio manual in the car's handbook?

There's nothing printed or handwritten on that manual that is specific to the radio I have unfortunately

The first stamp was when I got it serviced myself in November. Possibly the books were replaced.

Rang Windsor Bray as there is a sticker on the rear window. Couldn't tell me where it came from or the code.

the keys for releasing the radio go in quite far but thats just to hook on.

the actual catch is about 1" in. Its got a bit of a spring in it so if you put something like a release key in and push it towards the screen, it should spring back out to the edge a bit.

I cut up an old geometry set that I found in the house to make metal strips about 7mm wide (not much more at all) and tried them. They didn't work for me because I didn't know how the catch system worked on this radio but they have worked on other sets.

If doing it, use two "keys" and do the left side then the right or vice versa, not to and bottom. You'll need to push both keys towards the screen hitting the spring catch, and while doing that pull that side of the radio out. bit tricky, maybe get a second pair of hands. The proper keys have little hooks so you can hit the catch and pull the set out with them. you can get them in halfords and if you do, remember the little hook at the end points into the screen as well

I have the keys and have removed this radio more times than I can count, where you based?

Thanks to the very helpful alexlyons for getting the radio out for me with his set of keys.

Will try an online generator to get code

wouldn't post the serial on here, just in case. No hassle, happy to help

Was going to generate a code for you with my generator but your serial number is gone! There's thread on here, Ford Mondeo Radio Code, plenty of people there have requested codes in the past :)

I entered the serial into a generator downloaded online earlier and just got to bang it in now. We have a working radio!

Thanks to all. The silence was maddening
