    Hi,
Hope this hasn't been covered before..
I've just started the gym. I need to lose weight( a few stone) and strengthen my bones.
I've had an assessment n been given a routine.
Should I go every day or how often is best??
I doubt I'd make every day but I know I could probably do at least 5 days.

My fitness level is very low and I hope to build this up also.
    Thanks

If you haven't been exercising regularly up to now, I'd recommend 3 times a week, with definitely one day off in between sessions to start. In a few weeks time, you'll be a bit fitter and hopefully a bit lighter (although diet is major there) and you can build up to 4 times or more. You don't want to over do it initially. If you felt that you weren't doing enough on 3 sessions, you could always go for a walk on the off days.

I'm a regular gym user and it's a challenge to go 5 times a week, but hard to keep up unless you are flexible enough to go before work sometimes.

    Best of luck!

    Hey OP

I'm in a similar boat to yourself, trying to get stronger and lose weight...

I go three times a week, Monday, Wednesday & Friday and I do 5 days of cardio out on the road on my bike Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday...

But I'm currently unemployed so I have a lot of time on my hands

Three times a week would be good. Far better to begin like that than to go five times a week for a few weeks, find it too pressurised or boring, and give up completely. Try and vary what you do so that its not the same old repetitive grind every day. If the gym has a pool (and you can swim) try that some days. See if they do classes you can attend. Also, set yourself goals: by x date I will run for x minutes and/or lift x weight. Variety and goals will keep you interested.

Thanks a million for the replies !!

I've not been exercising for a long time so that's why I wasn't sure what the best practises are!!!

    ;)
