My TV broke

    Hi guys

Apologies for the dumb ass question, however I'm hoping
for some wise counsel from fellow boardsies ;)

My mate had her UPC black box upgraded last week. She
couldn't get a pvr box, so its just a newer 'basic' box I'm
assuming. She told me the engineer was only in the house
a short time to cable up the new box. Nothing was moved,
TV, video etc. Wierd thing is, three hours later her TV died.
Kinda went fizz, pop and now won't even power up. Its an
older type, large tube TV, about 7 yrs old and she's never moved
it, nor had a problem with it. She's very careful how she looks
    after things.

My question is. Is there any way that changing the UPC box
could possibly have effected her TV? I'm guessing not, but
I thought, no harm in asking.

    Cheers guys

    Max :D

Those TVs have a habit of doing that after about 5 years so 7 years is quite good

I've changed the title as there is zero possibility that the UPC box killed your TV.

Just sounds like an unlucky con-incidence.
