Monthly Signing in day J.A - Can it be changed at all?

    Hi,

    I signed up a month ago for Jobseekers allowance and have signed in once now although i havent recieved anything yet and have no idea when i will.

    My query is that i am going on a holiday (using savings) with family for 2 weeks and it clashes with my next monthly signing in time.

    Would i have to restart my claim if i miss the signing in?

    Is it possible that i can inform social in advance of the situation and that i can sign in a week earlier or later?

    I have worked for a few years abroad and have savings so be great if i wasnt pre-judged too much on the 'going on holiday' bit!

    Thanks for any info.

    You're allowed take 2 weeks "holiday" while on the dole - ring your local welfare office and they can tell you what to do. I think there's a form you fill in and drop in.

    If they say on the phone "yerra, that's grand", follow up with a letter as well :)
