Anyone here got any opinions on Charleville GC?

I am contemplating taking up their first time member offer which is €300 + bar fee and GUI. I have been playing for maybe 2 years now but never been a member anywhere so presume I will qualify for this membership. It's a really good offer.

The main advantage I can see the course has is it is a 27 hole course. I have played the 3rd 9 before but never the front 18 so was looking for opinions on it.

Hey Charleville's a graet parkland course and is kept very well throughout the year, would be a great place to join. Can i ask where you saw the first time member offer? I was thinking of joining too but the website says its 725 euro to join.

Maybe my description was a little misleading, its a beginners golfer membership, haven't got the full details of yet as need to contact the club, but I believe you can qualify if you have never had GUI membership before. It is up on the website if you search through the news section. They ran the offer last year and I believe it is running again this year.

distance membership is €400, only difference afaik is cant play in presidents / captains prize and maybe cant vote , i imagine you probably have to live 50 miles away from club but give address of relative / friend up the country , great value for 27 holes

Hi, Having been a member of Charleville GC for 15 years I would strongly recommend joining especially on that price which is amazing.
27 Holes which are always in fantastic condition especially the greens and which guarantees always getting a game any time any day, superb practise facilities which include two putting greens, 75 yard pitching area and a driving range complete with a golf academy with two excellent qualified and friendly professionals on hand for any advice. Top of the range bar and restaurant also.

Played Charleville twice last year, first week in January and then sometime around March, in good nick both times, a nice mix of holes too

I joined Charleville towards end of last year and I like the course.

The greens are in good nick, the guys in charge seem to look after the place well and take pride in the condition of course.

The 27 holes give a nice bit of variety, and there's a putting green and a seperate chipping green too to practice / warm up on.

Well worth the subs that are being offered imo.
