Heard about this a few weeks back, can't understand the need to change, any ideas?
Leave it as is, v simple. Surely the whole country never mind internationally should be on the same system?

idiotic if the other provinces dont. it makes it better and easier for picking provincial squads and keeping an eye out for players as this season every player in the u17 league can potentially play for munster next september in u18 interpros(which are based on the jan 1st cut off date).when under the july cut off date you had players split up between different age groups
    Dont think it'll happen.
Muscleshirt doyou know who are the main people looking for the change back

I had a discussion like this with a youth coach recently, can't remember which club.

He said that the age grade should be moved to coincide with the school year (ie, September I think?) because that's what defines social groups for kids of that age. That approach would make sense to me.

not sure where it's coming from, something similar happened in scotland this year for 16 to 19 age ,clubs can get another year from the players
and the schools want to keep the classes playing together,u21 and the inter-prov stays the same

The interpros are played off the jan 1st cut off date, club rugby should be the same.
The change to jan 1st gave plenty of people including myself an extra year of age grade rugby.
The big problem is keeping lads at 18-21 playing the sport and not giving it up but changing back to july cut off date wont solve that.
